Terms and conditions of the News Rover license:
- Each customer may install News Rover on two computers provided they
are both for your personal use. (You can't let a friend install one of
the copies on his computer.) For example, you could install one copy on
your home computer and the second copy on a notebook computer you take
with you when you travel.
- You may not give your registration key to anyone else, post it on
newsgroups or otherwise make it available to anyone else.
- You may continue to use the version of News Rover you purchase forever
as a standard newsreader using subscribed newsgroups and Autoscan. There are
no recurring costs for this type of use of News Rover, but you must have
access to some Usenet news server. You are responsible for paying the
subscription costs for any news server if you don't have free access to one.
- Your initial purchase includes a one year service agreement that provides the
following features:
- Access to the Usenet indexing service used by the MP3 and File Locator searches
in News Rover.
- Free upgrades to all new versions of News Rover released during the service
agreement period.
- Free registration key replacements and e-mail support.
- At the end of the year you can renew your service agreement if you wish to
continue using the MP3 and File Locator searches and receive updates and support.
- When News Rover is run, it authenticates your registration information by
connecting to a registration server. This process is very similar to the
"Genuine Advantage" system used by Microsoft to validate Windows licensing.

- Millions of messages and files of every type are posted to Usenet newsgroups
every day. Just like the World Wide Web, Usenet newsgroups contain information
on many subjects including technical discussion, personal experiences,
heated arguments, controversial articles, and sexually explicit material.
Some of the posted material may be
offensive or illegal, and some of it may contain copyrighted works of music,
art or literature. Since Usenet is a world wide system, material that may
be legal to post in one country may be illegal to download in another country.
Our company, S&H Computer Systems, has no control over the material posted to
Usenet newsgroups. We do not monitor, censor, store or distribute Usenet files and
messages; that is the job of Usenet news service providers. We do not
promote or condone the use of News Rover to download or post material that
is illegal or which would violate the copyright of artists and production
companies. We do not monitor, control or limit material that may be
downloaded using News Rover, nor do we know what material is being
downloaded by News Rover. It is the responsibility of our customers to
use News Rover in a responsible manner that respects the rights of others.
- We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at a
future time.
